Northeastern University receives hundreds of applicants a year. While Northeastern takes a holistic approach when reviewing each nursing school applicant, it's up to you to make sure your application is complete and of high quality.
Don't overlook these three important steps when preparing and submitting your application.
- Complete all admission requirements. Not sure if you're missing something? Log into your application and check the status. Confirm that your application is 100% complete and that your letters of recommendation and official transcripts have been received. If something seems out of place, follow up with your admissions counselor to make sure everything's been loaded into the shared site.
- Proofread written materials. Take advantage of today’s technology by running a spell check on every communication you send. Have another set of eyes look at your resume and personal statement. This is a vital but simple step that many students forget to do.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism. Being a nurse requires a great deal of education, commitment and character. It is important to present yourself in a professional manner from application to graduation. Starting with the ringtone on your voice mail and carrying through to your interaction with the dean of Bouvé College, your mannerisms during each step of the application process are a reflection of your application. Be on time for appointments, call if you are lost or running late, dress appropriately and be courteous to everyone you talk to. If you're unsure how to conduct yourself in a certain situation, reach out to your admissions counselor. We are here to help.
